Good afternoon people! Seems like it was just yesterday I
was sharing with all of you on the ways of eating clean and healthy and its
share of benefits. Well today being in a very health conscious mode, I am about
to share on how to get started on your mission of eating clean and healthy and
hope that these simple facts will guide you to make better food choices!

Have you ever followed your mom to wet markets? I have and
personally dread the experience! But as I observe my mom’s many antics, I can’t
help but to feel amazed at my mom’s interesting skills. She walked by the
vegetable stalls and will skillfully flip the veggie, giving an in-depth
inspection. She did the similar gestures in the fish stalls as well as few
other stalls. When asked why she went through the hassle, she simply answered
“It must be fresh!” Okay, I hope you know where I am getting at. Fresh food is
essential to our body as they contains more vitamins and keep our body
nourished and healthy. Try to snack on a carrot instead of a packet of potato
chips, and see the difference for yourself!

Secondly, feed yourself organic food. Foods that are grown
organically are not affected by pesticide, synthetic fertilizers, growth
hormones, and are not genetically modified. Apart from that, organic foods not
only eliminate greenhouse gas, but also build carbon-storing soil.
Next, go for seasonal fruits or veggies. Fruits or
vegetables that are seasonal are the tastiest and contain most nourishment.
Remember durians? They taste the best and the juiciest when they are in the
season right? Try buying them at times when it’s not in the season, how do they
taste? Exactly! The same theory applies to vegetables as well; buy them when
they are in the season. Work with the nature and not against it, people!

Fourthly, go for local food instead of imported ones. Check
at the local grocer for the food that you need or to morning market for fresh
veggies, for their fresh local vegetables and fruits which are also super cheap! The best
of all grow your own vegetables or fruits! Cool right?
Apart from that, try to abstain from processed food and
embrace unprocessed food instead. By consuming a whole, real food will provide
you with energy while reducing energy- intensive production method. Why would
you want to eat something that provides lesser energy when you can have more?
So, always pick unprocessed food rather than processed ones.

I’ve seen so many people who easily waste their food with no
speck of remorse at all! Did you know that we’re contributors to planet warming
Methane gas, by wasting so much of food?
Feed on leftovers, and save as much as you can. Don’t waste your food,
and as cliché as it may sound, remember that there are so many people out there
are starving for a slice of bread when you are getting rid of a box of pizza,
leftovers from last night. Sad but true.
I feel a lot smarter now that I know the tricks on how to
eat clean and healthy and hope all of those above made a slight difference in
your life too! Till we meet again, bye!
